Ballet: Looking Forward Panel
Saturday, Sept 7th, 2109
The Dance Centre – Jarislowsky Studio
Joshua Beamish moderates a free panel discussion open to the community which investigates key questions about programming in ballet today.
Topics will include the impact of technology on the way we make and present contemporary ballet and dance, thoughts of how we can anticipate the ways audiences will want to intake ballet/contemporary dance in the coming years, and questions of the continued value of narrative work and the telling of contemporary stories through our medium, among other topics. The discussion will also touch on how to best prepare emerging dance artists for the broad demands of repertory companies, and tech-based work, today and moving forward.
